Children’s Ministry Director (20-30 hrs/week)

As part of our core values, Hartland is committed to the next generation. We have a growing population of kids within our church and we want to see children both within and outside of our church reached with the gospel and discipled to live and love like Jesus. We’re looking for a Children’s Ministry Director who resonates with this vision, is passionate about seeing kids thrive in their faith, and who is able to bring their leadership and their heart to our church in the area of children’s ministry.

Who We Are:

-Someone with experience providing key leadership in children’s ministries within a church or parachurch context 

-Someone who is passionate about working with children

-Someone who recognizes the importance of working alongside parents in order to best support children and is able to do this well

-A lifelong learner who ideally has post-secondary training in a related field 

-Self-motivated, well organized, able to work well with minimal supervision

-A growing follower of Jesus who is in agreement with Hartland’s Statement of Faith & Core Values (see attachment on this page)

-A leader who is able to equip, encourage and excite people about children’s ministry

-A team player, able to work well with others. 

What You’ll Do: 

-Pray regularly for the children in our community, in our church, and for the volunteers who lead and teach in Hartland’s programs 

-Recruit volunteer teachers and leaders for kids programs from Nursery to Grade 7

-Give key leadership in developing and implementing a discipleship strategy for kids and youth as part of Hartland’s ministry team

-Lead and supervise Hartland’s Sunday morning kids programming, working directly with kids and adult leaders

-Coordinate training for leaders and teachers 

-Coordinate regular planning times 

-Oversee curriculum that will accomplish the goals of HBC

-Evaluate Hartland’s children’s ministry and adjust programming if needed

-Develop and implement strategies and/or programs to reach children in our community with the Gospel

-Communicate and Follow Hartland’s Children and Youth Protection Policy (ChYP), as well as evaluate its effectiveness and ensure that it is being followed 

-Other duties as assigned
